The Seven who decree fate.
Within Sumerian mythology we find many amazing stories relating to gods and heroes. These stories have sparked the imagination of many authors. However authors often refer to a set of Sumerian deities known as the Seven who decree fate. The names of these Seven is as yet unknown as no text has to date has been uncovered that specifically name them. What is agreed upon by both experts and other authors on the subject is that the four main deities from Sumerian mythology must be amongst the Seven who decree fate.

The Cities where kingship was handed down are as follows:
The first seat of kinship was at Eridu(g) before kingship moved to Badtibira.
From Badtibira kingship moved to Larak
From Larak kingship passed to Sippar.
From Sippar kingship passed to Shuruppak.
After a period of kingship at Shuruppak then the flood swept there over.
A total 241,200 years for the reign of the first kings before the flood.
The Apkallu, priest kings or great sages, were the advisors to the kings that ruled during this period and are regarded as the originators of the arts and skill of civilisation. Their duties amongst other things was to commune with the deities and relate the messages of the gods to the people. Each Sumerian city had Ziggurats, temples dedicated to a specific deity. This did not mean that the people of that city only worshiped and paid tributes to one specific deity.
Although the cities had a main place of worship for their resident deity other deities where also worshiped in the cities.
